EMT Initial Course- Summer Evenings 2021

COURSE FULL, WAITLIST ONLY!

This course is held June 8, 2021 through August 12, 2021. Class is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays from 6-10 p.m. and alternating Saturdays from 8a.m. to 4p.m. Saturday dates: 6/12, 6/26, 7/10, 7/24, 8/7. National Registry Psychomotor exam is August 14, 2021- specific time to be assigned at a later date.

 There is a mandatory orientation date on May 24, 2021 at 5 p.m.

Attendance is mandatory for all dates of class and Saturdays in order to be successful.

Additional Fees:

  • National Registry Psychomotor Exam: Testing Fee: $150 This fee is paid when the student successfully completes the class. Psychomotor exam fee is paid to LCFR.

  • Cognitive exam: Testing fee, $80, is paid to National Registry when applying for the exam. More information here: https://www.nremt.org/rwd/public/document/emt

  • Text: Emergency care and Transport of Sick and Injured 11th edition- ISBN 9781284080179. Navigate2 access & student workbook is optional.

Must be 17 years old with a clean background to be registered for the course. Proof of hepatitis B immunization, annual flu vaccination and a current negative TB Skin test is required. TB Skin testing can be provided by LCFRTC for a small fee.

Down payment of $100 (plus web fees) to hold your seat- and applies to tuition.

Tuition is $980 (plus web fees) and includes Platinum Planner access, Polo shirt, ID Badge, clinical time and online course access.

Student must purchase textbook and bring to the first day of class.

Some assignments will be done outside of class in addition to reading and study time. Students must obtain 10 patient contacts, this is scheduled in addition to course time, ride alongs offered at area fire departments and local er partnerships. Virtual clinicals will be utilized during pandemic as needed.

***Due to COVID, students may at times be attending class virtually via zoom. All content missed due to illness or quarantine is the students responsibility to learn. Excessive missed labs due to covid may result in extra work on the students part, or failure to meet minimum competencies for success in the course. Thank you for your understanding****
