Wilderness First Aid Class

This is an ASHI approved course with hands on instruction.  This course is required for any Boy Scout troop that wants to participate in any High Adventure Base Trek.

Cost: $125/participant. Student textbooks are not mandatory, and we will have some available for reference during class. CPR through our training center is $60 and will be held the evening before the class at our Training Center.

Pre-requisite: Current professional CPR Certification from either AHA or American Red Cross. Proof of certification must be submitted before class NO EXCEPTIONS. If not current, LCFRTC will hold a CPR course the evening before the WFA course.

CPR will be held Friday October 16th at 6pm at our Training Center.

This course is held from February 2nd to May 14th

There is a mandatory orientation & CPR date on the first day of class.

Upon successful completion of the EMT Course, you will take the National Registry Psychomotor exam on May 14th. Your exam time may be during the morning or afternoon. Cognitive exam is scheduled on your own after that.

 INVESTMENT:

Tuition is $1550 (plus web fees). This includes Platinum Planner access, clinical time, and online course access. Student must purchase textbook (additional cost) and bring to the first day of class.

Down payment of $250 (plus web fees) to hold your seat- and applies to tuition. Downpayment is NON-REFUNDABLE. Course MUST be paid in full by the first day of class.

This course is held Tuesday and Thursday Evenings 6-10 p.m and Saturdays February 10, March 9, April 13, & May 11 from 0800-1430. The NREMT Psychomotor exam will follow at a date TBD.

 A Valid, current EMT License and BLS Provider CPR Card are required for acceptance into this course. A clean background is also required to be registered for the course.  Proof of hepatitis B immunization, annual flu vaccination and a current negative TB Skin test is required. 


This course is 120 hours in class with 50+ hours required in clinical and additional study time in order to complete. Some content is completed online ONLY with assignments due in Canvas. Participants should plan on spending significant time studying and completing clinical skills outside of class hours.

Summer Day 2022

This course is held June 13 through August 10, 2022. Class is Monday - Thursdays 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. There is a mandatory orientation & CPR date on June 6, 2022. This is from 5-10 PM.

Upon successful completion of the EMT Course, the National Registry Psychomotor exam will be run on August 13, 2022.

 

Additional Fees:

  • National Registry Psychomotor Exam: Testing Fee: $150 This fee is paid when the student successfully completes the class. Psychomotor exam fee is paid to LCFR.

  • Cognitive exam: fee is paid to National Registry when applying for the exam, this fee is $80. More information here: https://www.nremt.org/rwd/public/document/emt

  • Text: Emergency care and Transport of Sick and Injured 12th edition- Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured Digital Advantage Package: 9781284243796 (psglearning.com) Can purchase from publisher, or other source. Digital copy is also acceptable but must be accessible during class.

Must be 17 years old with a clean background to be registered for the course. . Proof of hepatitis B, MMR immunization, annual flu vaccination and a current negative TB Skin test is also required. TB Skin test must be current, obtained within 1 year. COVID Vaccination is HIGHLY recommended in order to complete the patient contacts in time.

Down payment of $100 (plus web fees) to hold your seat- and applies to tuition.

Tuition is $980 (plus web fees) and includes Platinum Planner access, Polo shirt, ID Badge, clinical time and online course access. Student must purchase textbook and bring to the first day of class.

Some assignments will be done outside of class in addition to reading and study time. Students must obtain 10 patient contacts, this is scheduled in addition to course time, ride alongs offered at local and area fire departments and ER facilities. Timely Documentation in Platinum Planner is mandatory. This is scheduled through the course. COVID Vaccination is Required for clinical time at the hospital. Clinicals at the hospital is the primary source for patient contacts for this course.

This course is held May 31, 2022 through August 11, 2022. Class is Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday evenings from 6-10 PM and alternating Saturdays 8 am - 4 pm. Saturday Dates: June 11, June 25, July 9, July 23, August 6. No Class Wednesday July 5.

We are offering a Healthcare provider CPR course on April 19, 2022 at 6 p.m. Anyone in need of CPR Certification is welcome to register however this is geared for those attending Wilderness First Aid with our training center.

For those taking Wilderness First Aid - If you do not have a current Healthcare provider CPR card at time of the Wilderness First Aid course, you will need to obtain it prior. American Heart Association or Red Cross certifications are accepted.

WFA Course comes with access to a digital textbook at course completion as well as an emailed certification card. If you wish to have a student textbook in hand for the course, please purchase it now. Orders must be placed 2 weeks in advanced for a text to be guaranteed here. Textbooks are an additional fee of $20.50. Course only is $95 plus fees.

Paramedic Refresher- Hybrid

Paramedic Hybrid Refresher

This course will be offered on Wednesday Evenings and will meet National Registry NCCP required components for NREMT P renewal in Wisconsin and National Registry.

30 hours of online content will be required and course completion certificate must be submitted for successful completion. Student will receive a Canvas Course invite once payment verified with information on completing the online portion of refresher.

30 hours will be in class in person, attendance required.
