EMT students at our Milwaukee Bell Location- Summer, 2022

Lake Country Fire Rescue Training Center was established in 2012 after two years of hard work, planning and teamwork with our Medical Control and Fire Department members. Initially approved to teach Initial EMT, EMT Refresher and AEMT Refresher courses, we have expanded to meet the needs of our community and the medical professionals that work here. With that expansion, we partnered with Dr. George from Aurora Summit as our Medical Control. Aurora Summit has been an excellent resource to the Training Center, Instructors and Students.

Currently LCFRTC is approved to instruct initial course offerings in EMR, EMT, AEMT as well as refresher courses for all levels- EMR through Critical Care Paramedic. LCFRTC is dedicated to meeting the needs of our community in any way we can. We conduct American Heart Association CPR, ACLS, PALS & First Aid classes for health care providers and the general public on an as needed basis, for both large and small groups. In 2018 we opened a satellite location in Mayville Wi with a wonderful team of educators committed to student success. In 2019 we partnered with the Scouts of America to provide Wilderness First Aid training through ASHI. In January 2020, the training center expanded into Milwaukee, partnering with Bell Ambulance to support their Cadet program by providing initial EMT training.

The Training Center continued to adapt to meet the needs of our learners in 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic and ran the first virtual National Registry psychomotor exam as soon as we were able. The training center remained open, not canceling programs so emergency responders could continue to be trained.

In 2022 gained a full-time instructor allowing us to refresh teaching styles, materials and improve in all areas of the training center. We continue to focus on the learners and needs of our communities served.
