Mission Statement

Lake Country Fire Rescue Training Center provides Creative Community Training and Education that meets the needs of our learners and empowers them to best serve their communities through pre-hospital care and recognition of Fire and EMS emergencies.

Job Summary:

     The self-motivated employee shall prepare and deliver high quality EMS curriculum content to students. Employee will manage the classroom and lab experiences for their courses. Employee must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and excellent communication skills both in the classroom and out. Employee will gain working knowledge of our LMS, and other software programs utilized to teach current up to date EMS curriculum that meets State and National criteria.  Instructor will work closely with Program Director to deliver current up to date EMS curriculum & teach skills that meet state and national criteria.

    When not actively teaching courses, employee will assist with department responses and operations, as necessary. This includes responding to emergency calls for service, preparation of required reports and records, ensuring compliance with apparatus and equipment maintenance polices & performing firefighting/rescue operations.

    This position is a 40 hour work week. Flexible hours to meet the needs of EMS courses as determined by the Training Center and Instructor Coordinator.   Additional hours as necessary to meet 40 hours may be spent at the department towards staffing.

We are seeking motivated EMS professionals to deliver high quality EMT curriculum content to students.  Instructors must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and excellent communication skills both in the classroom and out.  

Course instruction will be under the Training Center Program Director. Main location for course delivery is at Milwaukee, Bell Training center and Nashotah Training Center.



Employment Requirements:

  • Resident of the United States of America

  • Valid WI driver's license, which must be maintained throughout employment.

  • Valid & Current WI State EMT Paramedic License- Must maintain.

  • Current National Registry certification- Must maintain.

  • Working as Licensed EMT or higher for minimum 2 years, 4 years or more preferred

  • Current, or ability to obtain Wisconsin Emergency Services Instructor II certification within 60 days of hire.

  • Experience with or desire to learn EMS Training equipment and LMS software.

  • Ability to teach skills and content in a matter that is understood by a variety of students.

  • Firefighter 1 WI Certification-required within 1 year of hire.

  • Able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

 Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • AHA BLS Instructor Certification

  • AHA ACLS & PALS Instructor Certification

  • Firefighter II Wi certification

  • Driver Operator-Pumper WI certification

Summary of Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, EMS Scope of Practice & Skills.

  • Skilled at analysis/reasoning, communication/interpretation, math/mental computation & reading.

  • Sustained mental activity (i.e. auditing, problem solving, composing reports).

  • Ability to maintain sensitive or confidential information.

  • Explain and gather information, answer queries, or aid internal and/or external contacts.

  • Ability to persuade, conform or recommend course of action with students.

  • Ability to perform in securing understanding and cooperation with students.

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend EMS curriculum and other written correspondence with students and staff.
